
The Head of Government of the City of Buenos Aires, Jorge Macri, presented the key to the City to the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, as a gesture of friendship between the two nations and a commitment to keep the doors open for France. Both leaders participated in a tribute at the Church of the Holy Cross in the San Cristóbal neighborhood, where they paid tribute to the French who disappeared and were killed during the Argentine military dictatorship.
In attendance were Macri's wife, María Belén Ludueña, and the Secretary General and of International Relations, Fulvio Pompeo. Macri expressed: "We will always stand alongside Western leaders who defend democracy and individual freedoms," emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the two countries.
During Macron's visit to the country, the importance of the private sector and French investments as drivers of growth in the City of Buenos Aires was highlighted. Macron made the visit to meet with Argentine President Javier Milei, reaffirming the commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between France and Argentina.
